Oversized Metal and Wood Word Wall Art

We’ve had a large blank space above our stair case since we moved in. I’ve been debating what we were going to put there and I finally came across a picture on Pinterest with a statement word and I loved the concept. I started searching around online for letters and found a website called Craft Cuts that sells every font, size, and material that you would want. I wanted a variety of colors, materials, depths, and sizes and this was the perfect website to find it from.

Home Sweet HomeI played around online until I liked all the fonts and sizes I could find. I bought a mixture of wood and metal and love how they mix together. I stained some {Minwax Dark Walnut and also Rutoleum Weathered Gray} and painted others with the chalk paint I had leftover from my Farmer’s Market sign. I used scrap wood cut to different widths and hot glued them to the back of the letters to make them different depths. You can’t tell from the pictures too well but it stands out in person. I could have bought different thicknesses but didn’t want to spend too much on this. I hung them using Command strips so they were really simple to put up.

Home sweet Home 4The pictures don’t do the size justice, but I love it. It’s such a fun statement piece when you first enter our home.
