Blue Laundry Cabinets

I left our laundry cabinets unfinished for the last 6 months because I never felt really sure on a color. We have white cabinets and white walls in our kitchen and I absolutely love them. The difference is the warmth in the wood floors and wood island create a perfect contrast. Our laundry/mudroom has light gray tile floors so we needed some contrast in here. The cabinets were originally oak-we got them for free from Mike’s work when they closed one of their clinics. We knew we weren’t going to keep them wood so we topped it with butcher block and a pretty white sink. After sitting on it for months, blue finally hit me. I started searching Pinterest for some inspiration and knew that was the direction I wanted to go {you can see them here}. I bought a sample at Lowes but it was a shade too light. When we were grocery shopping at Target one day, I noticed they now carry paint and had the perfect blue. We bought the sample size and painted a drawer and I loved it immediately. Two sample pots covered all these cabinets. Mike found the perfect antiqued silver finished hardware at Home Depot and they were done in a couple hours. We are currently using this little nook space for Pudge’s dog food but eventually we plan on putting a barstool there and making it a computer workspace. We’ll create a little food drawer for Pudge in one of the cabinets.
