Master Bedroom Reveal

We’ve been working on decorating our master bedroom over the past couple of weeks and wrapped it all up yesterday. It’s a fairly large room and we didn’t have a real clear vision for the room when we moved in so we just sort of let it sit and a design began to emerge. I love when that happens. We absolutely adored¬†our last master bedroom but wanted a more sophisticated style in this house. We went with a navy, white and cream color scheme with touches of gold thrown in some of the decor. There are tons of DIYs in this room, including the entire bed, curtains, and lots of art/decor that I’ll be sharing over the next couple of weeks but today is all about the pretty pictures:)

We wanted to fill the room with meaning. You’ll see more as I share tutorials throughout the week, but the art work near the windows is a blown up picture of the tree Mike carved our initials into at our first house. The small navy frames with numbers in gold on the gallery wall are dates that are important to us {first date, the day Molly was born, when Mike proposed, etc.}. The memory box Mike gave me for our wedding and the photo album he used to propose are on my nightstand. Not only does a bedroom need to pretty and cozy, but a meaningful reminder of why we’re here. It’s been really fun to create this space and now we are able to sit back and enjoy it!

  5. I love this room so so much. It’s just so elegant. I love the mix of “fancy” textiles and furniture and rustic wood elements in the door and artwork. That artwork above your bed is great – and above the table, too. Excellent work.

  9. Such a pretty room! I really like the curtains, the bed and especially the frames over the bed. Very nice! The table on the gallery wall is so narrow! I wonder what it was intended for? A sofa table? The whole room is amazing!

    • Thank you, Betsy! We actually built the narrow table for the space. The same dimensions would be perfect for a sofa table though:)
