DIY Jewelry Holder

I was recently perusing Pinterest and came across this awesome, modern DIY jewelry holder by the fabulous Emily Henderson.

wood-jewelry-blocks_04Aren’t they awesome? I knew they would be perfect for our new closet makeover. I love the look and how simple they are but we don’t have much “modern” going on in our house or closet so I did a really little twist on it to make it more “us.”

You can follow Emily’s tutorial above to make the holder and below are my adjustments. I took a scrap piece of wood that was about 2″ long x 1″ tall and wrapped it in gold craft tape. One caution here-make sure you either dap a bit of super glue under the tape or use strong tape because the stick pulled the tape off the wood block on my first attempt. You could also simply paint or stain the blocks. The scrap wood I used was already stained so I wanted to use the gold to pop behind the sticks.
