Welcome to the new year! I hope you were all able to relax and enjoy time with friends and family over the holidays. I have loved being home with Molly the past two weeks and am so not ready for reality to set back in but I guess that’s life. Besides lounging and playing with Molly and all her fun, new toys, we spent lots of time with friends and family and had plenty of fires at our new house:) It’s always bittersweet to take down all the cozy Christmas decorations but I did have fun bringing in some of the outdoors for a pretty winter mantle. It is so much fun to have a large mantle and fireplace to decorate:)
With the mix of stone and wood on our fireplace, I thought it would be nice to keep things neutral and woodsy for the winter months. I had Mike cut down some greenery from the yard and simply laid that on the mantle and put some in our new copper planter that we are using as a wood holder.
I saw a cute twig wreath on Pinterest recently and decided to make my own version to hang on our antique window. I added a flower in the center to soften it up.
I love how it all turned out. With the cute deer Mike got me for Christmas and the lantern he got me for my birthday, it all works together well. Throw a few pine cones in there and it’s just like hanging out in the backyard.
How do you decorate your mantle for winter?
