DIY Polka Dot Wall

It’s finally time to start sharing some tutorials! I’ve been taking pictures around the house starting with a tour but there is so much to share as far as how-tos so I thought I would start with Molly’s room since I love it so much:)

I honestly don’t know how I’ve gone this long as a blogger and craft-lover without one. It’s a game changer as far as home decor goes. I’ve been on a bit of a Silhouette binge and can’t stop so just prepare yourself for lots more tutorials involving this handy little machine. To make Molly’s polka dots, I got some light pink vinyl and started up my machine. You may have seen my excitement in this Instagram post if you follow me {and if you don’t, you should! Lots of house sneak peaks!}.

So here is the super simple tutorial. Open the Silhouette Design Studio and create a blank workspace. Click on the “Draw an Ellipse” picture on the left side of the screen and create your circle. Pull and stretch the ellipse until both sides are equal. Mine are about 2.5″ but you can make them as large or small as you would like.

I made mine about 30″ when I printed to get as many done as I could. I ended up running it through a couple of times because I wasn’t sure how many I would need.

I grabbed a measuring tape and spaced them out about 18″ by eyeballing it {no laser level or anything complicated}. Molly loves to organize things so she sat on the floor and emptied and refilled her laundry basket about 50 times while I did it. I think it only took about 30 minutes to get them all up.

I still have a few to add at the bottom of each wall but they make such a statement when you walk in her room. When I was sticking them up, Molly looked up at one point and said “pwetyy!” That’s my girl:)

What do you think of the polka dots? Who else has a Silhouette and loves it!?
