Furniture Shopping

We aren’t purchasing a ton of new furniture pieces for the new house but there have been a few we’ve bought. You can read about our new living room chairs here, bar stools here, and we recently purchased some new kitchen table chairs that will go around the farmhouse table Mike will build for the kitchen/living room area. When you walk into our house from the garage {which will be our daily entry area}, you walk through the laundry/mudroom, and into the kitchen. To the right, there is a fairly large blank wall before you enter the dining room. We plan on hanging our framed house plans on the wall but wanted something under that. It will end up being a drop spot for mail I’m sure, but I want it to be pretty and functional also. We had recently been contacted by Sauder so it was perfect timing to find a piece to fill this space. We found tons of gorgeous options {which you can see more of on my Pinterest board} and narrowed it down to this piece.

I love the color {it will match perfectly with the frame I recently made over} and is very functional. It has drawers so we can hide our junk, doors to hide more junk, and pretty display areas as well. It will be a perfect multifunctional piece in a space where we need it. We took a large haul of lighting, boxes, and other items over to the house this weekend, including this beautiful sideboard. Mike put it together in about an hour and a half. The pieces are clearly marked so you can follow the directions and put it together.

I love it! Have you recently purchased any furniture?

  1. […] You may remember back when we were still getting this house together, we brought in our first piece of furniture-this Sauder sideboard. We didn’t even have floors but it served a great purpose of a place to hold drinks, snacks, etc. while we worked. […]
