DIY Log IPad Holder

Hi friends!

I hope you all had a great weekend. Saturday was gorgeous so we got outside and walked around our property a little bit. Part of the reason for going out there was a project idea I had. A few weeks ago I was perusing some of my favorite shelter mags and came across this picture:

photo-86I snapped a picture of it on my phone and showed it to Mike. I knew we could find a great piece of wood at our property. I took a little different approach from the picture above and made an iPad stand with it. I wanted something unique to hold my iPad in the kitchen while cooking so I can follow recipes on it. It will look so cool in our new kitchen:)

DIY Log Ipad StandIt took less than 30 minutes to make and was free. You just need a few tools to get the job done. We started by grabbing a pretty log from our woods.

logIt had a really pretty smooth section in the middle that I wanted to use. We peeled any excess bark of later.

DIY Log Ipad Stand The log we chose had some cool knots in it so it helps the log stay securely in place. If your log is more round, you may want to either cut the bottom of the log so you have a flat surface, or add some little “legs” to the bottom to make it stay in place.

What do you think? What great ideas do you have to hold your iPad?

  1. I love that you made your own! I have loved these in the catalog, but not only are they super expensive, they also only work with with one particular model. I’d like to try making my own that could hold our iPad or either of our iPhones (one is a 4 and the other a 5).

  2. wow this looks fab!! how creative

  3. Nice! I knew this could be DIYed when I saw them before. You rock for figuring this out!
