DIY Bookshelf {Nursery Bookshelf}

It’s time for a nursery update! We are down to the last few steps for the nursery and then we’ll be ready for a full reveal! This weekend my best friend threw me the prettiest baby shower ever. I’ll have a full post on all the gorgeous details later in the week, but one of my favorite things was that she had everyone bring a book instead of a card with their gift. Everyone signed the book with a little tag that she sent in the invite so Baby H. will always know who it came from. So sweet. Mike built really simple DIY bookshelves a couple weeks ago and I was able to fill them with lots of wonderful books this weekend after the shower.

This bookshelf is one of my favorite things in the nursery because it is made from a long shelf that I had in my room growing up. I’ve kept it all this time in our house waiting for the perfect place to put it. It had some curvy wood brackets on the ends that we cut off, but this is pretty much what it looked like before.
bookshelf Mike took it out to the garage workshop and cut it in half. Then he used some scrap wood trim we had in the garage to use as book holders. We put two strips on each shelf so we could have two rows of books on each shelf.
