Day 16: Baby Decision-Making Part 2-Cribs

Ok, round 2 of you helping me make decisions. Last week we talked about gliders and this week I wanted to focus on cribs. Obviously safety and sturdiness are top priority, but I also want a crib that looks great:) I am basically wavering back and forth between two styles: a modern, more boxy crib and a traditional crib. Polar opposites, I know. First up are a few great modern options {click on images for sources}.
Then there is the more traditional style.
How sweet is that last room, by the way? I’m a sucker for a pretty, calming, neutral room.
So what are your thoughts? Do you like the modern style or more traditional?

I’m a sucker for the traditional crib–but with a modern twist on the room.. I luv the old school room touches–but also calming…
Wow! Now you are really making this tough! I too like both the traditional and modern cribs. Just a thought to help you decide – baby one stayed in her crib until she was a little over 3 years old (she never climbed out). Then we moved her to a twin size and put baby two in the crib. This thing might be around for a little while so you want to REALLY like it.
It is also hard to weigh in on a decision like this without knowing the other style in the room – traditional or modern? Will the crib dictate the style or will the style dictate the crib? OK I kind of suck at this whole decision making thing – sorry.
i love the last crib in each style. they both have space for storage too, which was important to us when picking out nursery furniture. under the crib is a perfect place for crib sheets and extra blankets. hope that’s helpful!
also, congratulations on your tiny little baby!!! we are so so so so so happy for you and mike.
Thanks for the tips, ladies! I love hearing different takes on the cribs. And it’s always good to hear from moms of little ones:)
I got a modern grey crib for my baby’s room, and it looks great. Walmart of all places has actually a great selection of modern cribs. The brand is called Baby Mod. I bought the Modena 3-in-1 for $199, and it is beautiful, sturdy and expensive looking.
