The Olympics are Here!

It’s here, people. Raise your hand if you are excited for the opening ceremonies tonight! I am definitely guilty of getting caught up in the hype on the news and commercials and can’t wait for the events to start. Apparently, I’m not alone. I found this graphic with some super interesting stats on how we watch the Olympics.
Luckily school hasn’t started back yet or I would totally be one of the 1 in 5 watching at work {I’m sure we could make it educational somehow:)}. And I totally agree with the favorite/least favorite events for women. Love love love gymnastics and swimming and who even knew badminton was an event??? For a few more fun facts, I also found this awesome graphic on London as the Olympic host.
Can you believe it was 188 days long back when London first hosted? I don’t think my attention span would last that long:) And if your attention span lasted through this post, who is even more excited for the Games to start? I’m sure I’ll be tweeting and Facebooking my faves so be sure to join along!

That’s cool Jess. Oh how things have changed since I was born (1947 not 1908). In 1948 the TV’s had 7″ black & white screens everyone had to stand around to see. Just imagine what you will be reflecting on in 40 years. Maybe the walls in your house will be your TV giving you a 360 deg. view and you sitting right in the middle of it all. You can tell your children how you used to watch tv on little 2 dimensional 55″ tv’s. Ha Ha.
Love you,
Dad
