Painted Glass Vases

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend celebrating the fathers in your life.  We had everyone over here for a cookout and had a great time.  Today I’m backtracking to the laundry room…I have a quick, easy tutorial to bring a little color to any space.

I had grabbed these glass vases at Goodwill for .25 a piece awhile back.

They are open on the top and bottom so before I could pour the paint in, I had to wrap the bottom with foil.  You can use plastic wrap or anything else also that would have a nice tight hold on the bottom.

I used the same paint sample that I bought to paint the laundry room art.

Then I poured some paint down the inside of the glass and let it run down to the bottom.

Then I just sort of swirled and tilted the vase around until the paint spread around the whole inside.  I had to add more paint here and there to fill it all.  The excess paint will pool in the bottom.

Once all the glass is covered, stand the vase up and let all the paint run to the bottom.  Once the interior was dry, I removed the foil and poured the excess paint back into my sample.  Then I sat the vase onto a paint tray until the bottom was also dry.  You could do this same thing with a normal vase, just turn it upside down for the paint to drain out the opening.  I wanted to add a little something extra so I took some of the sisal rope from our drying rack project.

And hot glued it on.

I like how they add a little more color to the shelves and tie in the cabinet door art.

I’ll be back later this week with one last laundry room tutorial!
