Mission: Organization
| June 6, 2012 | Posted by Jessie under Organization |
Since I’m on summer break, I decided to give myself a goal to accomplish this summer. Not just a project or one room makeover. A project I could work on each week that will make our lives easier when I go back to work and let the house fall to shambles again get busy. So, I decided to tackle our sloppy, messy, junk-crammed, disorganized areas of our house and report back to you all each week. It may not be a beautiful makeover, but it will hopefully pass on some organization inspiration. I’ve made this very official. With a label and everything.
Here’s a rundown of some of the areas on my organization list.
- junk drawer #1
- junk drawer #2
- junk drawer #3 {anyone else have multiple junk drawers or is that just us?}
- underneath my bathroom sink
- underneath Mike’s bathroom sink
- bathroom drawers
- upstairs “storage” closet {aka junk room}
- the sewing room
- laundry room {I can almost mark this one off the list!}
- pantry
- closet under the stair case
My goal is to tackle one of these areas each week so I’ll keep you posted on my progress:) Anyone have any great organizational websites/tips/ideas to share? I’m all ears!

Hi Jessie! I have no advice (everything Jen does here is amazing http://iheartorganizing.blogspot.com/)
but only the encouragement that you did the right think by making a list and tackling it milestone by milestone (she says from behind the giant pile of “to be sorted/filed” paperwork). I can’t wait to see your handywork!
Thanks, Kara! I love Jen too so I’m sure I’ll be hopping over there to see what ideas I can steal:)
I completely understand your mission. I’m also a teacher and during the school year things got a “little” out of order. I’m trying to get things back in control little by little. Jen from IHeart Organizing is great, but I’ve also got a lot out of Modern Parents Messy Kids’ “Project Organize Your Entire Life”: http://www.modernparentsmessykids.com/2012/02/project-organize-your-entire-life.html
Thanks, Amy! I love hearing from fellow teachers:) Thanks for the link-I’ll have to check that one out too!
