A Peek into my Makeup Bag

Summer is just around the corner so today we’re talking summer beauty.  I will be the first to admit that I am not a big make-up wearer, but the few products I do use, I wear everyday.  So, let’s take a peek into my make-up bag, shall we?

My pretty bag was a gift from a friend’s wedding a couple years ago and I still use it everyday.  I just love personalized gifts:)  Anyway, I pulled out a few of my fave products to share.

A recent new love is this St. Ives Timeless Skin collagen facial mosturizer.  Mike thinks I am crazy for wearing wrinkle cream in my 20s but I don’t think it’s ever too early to start {especially when you make as many ridiculous facial expressions during the day as I do to entertain 21 six-year-olds}.  I bought this product about a month ago for a few dollars at a drugstore and have used it twice a day ever since.  It makes my skin super soft and the jar is big enough to last for months.  Another beauty line I use is Physicians Formula.  I used to wear Bare Minerals, but opted for this drugstore version a few months back and am hooked.  The price is one great selling point, but I also love that the foundation comes in a compact.  I hated the mess my Bare Minerals made and this stays nice and clean.  It also has better coverage, in my opinion, so I would definitely recommend it.  I use the foundation and bronzer/blush everyday.  Everyone looks better with a light, shimmery, summery glow:)  My last summer must-have is a great waterproof mascara.  I love this Maybelline One by One volume mascara.  It stays in place and adds lots-o-volume {which I definitely need}.

Having said all of that, and as much as I love a great make-up tip as much as the next gal, I truly believe real beauty comes from one place…

Happiness.  Next to your make up bag, set something that will make you smile and start your day off right.  Whether it be this printable {which you are welcome to use!}, a pretty picture, or a sweet card from a loved one, start your day off with a smile.  Mike recently gave me a sweet, encouraging, just because kind of card to make me smile and it now sits right where I can see it each morning.

So what about you?  Any great summer beauty tips?  Favorite products to share?  Anyone else have a way to give yourself a little hope and happiness each morning?
