Mossy Spring Wreath

I’m slowly adding some touches of spring to our house after being inspired by all this warm weather and pretty sunshine lately, and our front door was at the top of the “to-decorate” list.  I got some inspiration via Pinterest and found a few wreaths that I used as inspiration {from here and here} and came up with this mossy spring wreath.

I started by tearing off the spruce twigs and pine cones from my Christmas wreath {yes, it was still hanging around…on March 13th} and re-used my form that was already covered in muslin.  I bought 5 rolls of this moss from the Dollar Tree:

I simply wrapped and hot glued the moss roll around the wreath form.

Then I glued a few Dollar Tree sparkly eggs on the bottom.

I also added a little “welcome” bunting in the middle.  I just cut some yarn and hot glued it to the back of my moss.

Then I forgot to take pictures.  Oops.  But I just grabbed some yellow fabric and stenciled “welcome” onto each little triangle.  I also wrapped some ribbon around the top and hung it from my wreath hanger on the front door.

There are a few gaps in between my moss that I would have loved to cover better, but I didn’t notice it until it was hung and by that point, I didn’t really feel like taking it down and reworking.  I should be in the dictionary next to “imperfectionist”.  Total cost:  $7 for the moss, eggs, and ribbon.  It adds a nice, cheerful punch of spring to our front porch.
