FFF-December Wrap-Up
| December 30, 2011 | Posted by Jessie under Financial Freedom Fridays |
To be expected, December was full of fun Christmas-themed crafts and decorating. I actually only spent $25 of my monthly shopping budget {a.k.a my “redecorate my house budget”} and more than half of that was spent on material for dining room slipcovers that I haven’t even shared yet. So, needless to say, most of my decorating this month was was done through the Dollar Tree or shopping my house:)
I started off the month with my Charlie Brown inspired dining room buffet decor.
Then I shared how I DIY’d our Christmas gift wrapping paper.
With the holidays on my mind, I shared some holiday comforts {including pics from an acapella Christmas concert Mike and I went to!}
I spray painted some old ornaments this year to fit in with the new color scheme of our living room.
If you want to see the complete wrap-up of all our Christmas decor, check out my wrap-up here.
Our Christmas card this year was less than perfect and I gave you the play-by-play on how we attempted the photo shoot.
A really cool project that Mike built this month was a wine rack for my parents’ kitchen. Mom had a cabinet with no doors and Mike built a custom piece to fill it. My dad had a great idea to add some lighting to the cabinet and recently put some in the bottom of the rack to highlight it in the kitchen.
Our current project {that will hopefully be completed early next week!} is our master closet makeover. I shared some inspiration and the plan here…so far, so good. Paint is on the walls, boards have been cut and painted, and fabric is hung! Can you tell I’m a little excited:)
And to end the year, I shared my top 10 DIY projects that Mike and I completed this year. It’s fun and fulfilling to look back on everything we accomplished this year. Be sure to see which projects we love the most!
And since we’re all ready to get going on a fresh start this year, Lisa from Blog Content Guild shared 3 trends to look forward to in the new year.
I’ll be back tomorrow with some {hopefully} inspiring words to get you and I excited for a fresh start to a new year. Have a great weekend!
