Dining Room Inspiration

We’ve recently overhauled the kitchen and master bedroom {and parts of the master bath}, and now we’re moving onto the dining room.  We’re getting close to having our first floor “done” {at least if you ask Mike}.  Our plans are well underway, materials are being bought this week and we’re very excited to tackle this room.  We’ve already revamped a buffet {ignore the bad photos and awkward writing-it was early on people} and I made some placemats awhile back, and of course we’ll keep my sister-in-law’s beautiful artwork gift in there as well, but here are some inspiration photos of what’s to come {click on image for source}.

DIY Wainscoting.  We’re still trying to decide between two styles and here are some great tutorials we will likely refer to:

via Remodelaholic

We have board and batten in our entry which is right outside of our dining room so we are trying to decide between a similar style {like Remodelaholic’s version} or something completely different {like Centsational Girl’s version}.  Any thoughts?

We’re headed to Chicago next weekend so we’ll definitely be stopping at Ikea to pick these up {or something similar, depending on what hits us while we’re there}:

Of course we’ll have to add some rustic wall display, something similar to these:

I have some simple, but hard-to-miss artwork in the plans, that will make a statement like this piece:

The two head chairs of our dining table will get a pretty outfit like this:

And to finish it all off, we might add some meaningful artwork:

And to leave you with plenty of inspiration, here are just some great dining rooms I love:

We’re starting work this weekend!  Can’t wait to show you our progress:)

  1. I can’t wait to see what you guys do with your dining room. We recently redid our dining room as well with a dark blue gray on top, chair rail and white on bottom. Currently looking for new curtains!
