Horizontal Stripes

I have recently seen horizontal stripes everyone and love them. Before I show you my version, here is some horizontal stripe inspiration to get you in the mood:
Inspired yet?
Next month I plan on painting some stripes upstairs but one of my projects for January was curtains for our living room. I have always loved The Nester’s (above) so I decided to try and make my own. She has written about her curtains before and she found this material, already beautifully striped. I looked everyone and couldn’t find any that would work for this room so I figured I could piece my own together. And it actually worked.
Before (sorry this is from Christmas):
After:
Hanging your curtains floor to ceiling will heighten your room so we hung them about a foot above our windows. I also made them a little long so we could have the puddle effect on the floor.
I absolutely love how they turned out. They fill up that wall and soften the room and were actually very simple to make. I think it took about an hour per panel and the entire project (that’s all 4 panels people) cost me $14!!!! I got some great deals on fabric over Martin Luther King weekend (holler for sales) and made them in a couple afternoons. I still love the valances I had up originally (and I just made them last fall) so I am creating a room around them upstairs. Pics coming next month hopefully.
One more pic (in the day time):

WOW! Those did turn out great! I love them. I can’t believe the price and how quickly you were able to put them together. What a lovely difference they make!
WOW! Great job! They look awesome!
And thanks for the sweet shout out too!
Thanks Layla! That’s a huge compliment coming from you:) I absolutely adore your blog and home. Thanks for checking out mine!
Ha! Love this! We have the same curtains. I made mine last year from drop cloths. Yours look great!
