Remember all that burlap I bought a couple weeks ago for my frame? Well I have a ton left. Luckily, I think it’s useful for all sorts of things. I have framed it, painted on it, and now, a table runner.
I started to fold and pin the edges to hem it but once I had part of it pinned, I realized that it lost some of it’s rustic appeal so it unpinned it and steamed it back flat. It was also wayyyy easier. All I did to make this runner was to measure and cut to fit how I wanted it to. I put it on our antiqued buffet so the ragged edges really adds to the feel of the buffet. Super easy and super cheap. The burlap I used for this probably cost about $2.00. I may eventually add ribbon or some contrasting stitches for fun, but for now it sits like this:
I plan on making some place mats with the rest but here is some other burlap inspiration I found:
pillows from The Tarnished Crown
Burlap covered lampshades from Living with Lindsey
The possibilities are endless. Have I mentioned how crazy cheap and awesome burlap is? I’d love to hear about your burlap projects!
