Wall Art

Artwork for your home can be affordable, unique, and easy. One of my recent wall art creations has added a lot of interest to a wall in our bedroom. For two new pieces it cost me about $12. Here is how to make one for yourself:
What you will need:
- Art canvas (I got a 2-pack on sale at Hobby Lobby for $4.50)
- Scrapbook paper (I needed 9 pieces to cover 2 canvasses-these were on sale as well at 5 for $1)
- Mod Podge
- Paint brush or sponge
- Paint, fabric, glitter, ribbon (Optional)
Lay out your scrapbook paper on your canvas to decide how you will cover it. You may need to cut pieces to cover the whole thing without wasting paper. You will want to overlap it slightly to avoid cracks in your finished product.
Glue each piece to the canvas and let dry (I used Mod Podge). Fold the edges over the sides so your finished canvas is completely covered. I folded the corners and glued them down as well-kind of like wrapping a present.
Then cover the whole canvas with the Mod Podge to create a finished look.

After that dries, you can add any decorative touches you want. I wrote our initial on each, but you could do a design or use other materials besides paint (fabric, glitter, ribbon, etc.) to add interest to the piece. You could also just leave as is if you get some really cool scrapbook paper. Enjoy!
